Louisville bank gunman committed the crime in support of gun control, according to the media

Connor Sturgeon was allegedly suicidal and wanted to draw attention to mental health when he killed five of his former coworkers at Old National Bank. His manifesto describes how he legally purchased his AR-15 despite being under medication treatment for depression and anxiety. He also left voicemails to his parents and Whalen, complaining he was about to lose his job at the bank. The family of Connor Sturgeon has joined their son in advocating for gun control legislation, urging the Kentucky state legislature to remove the gun auction provision. Sturgeon's family is having his brain tested for CTE, a degenerative brain condition caused by repeated head injuries.
