Stephen Lawrence was murdered when he was 18 years old in a racially motivated attack on April 22, 1993, sparking a national outcry and concluding the London Metropolitan Police Service was institutionally racist. Despite decades of promises, reviews and reforms, a new government report published last month reached the same conclusion: the Met is still institutionally racist.
