Germany discusses Ukraine fighter jets.

February 21, 2023

(RT) ⸻ Germany cannot meet Ukraine's requests for fighter jets, as its armed forces do not have the aircraft types Kiev wants. The German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr) currently relies on Eurofighter Typhoon fighter jets, which are produced jointly by the UK's BAE Systems, Airbus, and Italy's Leonardo. In January, Pistorius ruled out the idea of Germany sending fighter jets to Ukraine, saying it was too risky. Ukrainian officials have expressed optimism about overcoming Western reluctance to donate fighter jets, with the US still considering sending F-16s and Italy considering sending five warplanes. However, the UK has ruled out sending jets.
