China accused the US of "weaponizing" technological problems.

May 18, 2023

(RT)

The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin claimed that the US is attacking Chinese companies and scientists as part of its efforts to foil the technological development of other countries. He argued that the Disruptive Technology Strike Force set up by the US Justice Department (DOJ) was designed to “abuse export control regimes” and to “stop abusing judicial power to target Chinese researchers.” China has denied the allegations and accused the US of trying to subvert competition in the global IT market. On Wednesday, the state of Montana enacted an all-out ban on TikTok, and Huawei was placed on a US trade blacklist in 2019. Tensions between the US and China, the world’s two largest economies, have been on the rise as they compete for domination in key technologies.
