Investigators believe Putin provided MH17 missile.

(BBC) βΈ» International investigators believe Russian President Vladimir Putin supplied the missile that crashed aircraft MH17 in 2014, killing 300 passengers and crew. The Joint Investigation Team, composed of detectives from five nations, reached its findings after a Dutch court convicted two Russians and a Ukrainian guilty of murder in absentia last year. The JIT referenced last year's Dutch court ruling that Moscow had "overall authority" over the Donetsk People's Republic, which governed the territory in July 2014. The team sought to verify the missile's crew and chain of command, but it was not feasible. Ukraine's Prosecutor General Andriy Kostin vowed to bring Putin to justice over MH17, which killed Piet Ploeg's brother, sister-in-law, and nephew. Mark Rutte, Dutch prime minister, welcomed prosecutors' proof of Mr. Putin's participation in the downing of MH17, saying he was "now obvious" in the disaster. He said Putin was "primarily concerned with attempting to slow things down, propagate lies, injustice and aggression" since the conflict in Ukraine. He was unhappy there was not enough evidence to prosecute, but the criminal justice process was not finished.
