Ahly revived their hopes of qualifying for the quarterfinals of the African Champions League with a dominant 4-0 victory against Coton Sport on Friday. Mahmoud "Kahraba" Abdel-Moneim scored a hat-trick in the 24th, 29th, and 51st minutes, while Percy Tau added the fourth goal two minutes later. Ahly is currently third in Group B standings, trailing Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa and Al-Hilal of Sudan. The outcome of Saturday's game between Sundowns and Hilal depends on the outcome of the final game at home against the Sudanese team.Ahly coach was forced to substitute goalkeeper Mohamed El Shennawy with second-choice Ali Lotfi after the former sustained a leg injury. Kahraba scored his third goal in the 51st minute after beating the keeper from inside the area, following another assist by Tau. The South African winger turned from provider to scorer after drifting inside and tapping the ball into the near post, securing the full points and a spectacle for the Red Devils.
