China threatens the US with "consequences" if the "spy balloon" controversy worsens

(RT) ⸻ The Chinese Foreign Ministry has warned the US of "consequences" if it tries to stir up tensions in the wake of the shooting down of a Chinese balloon, which was an "abuse of force" by Washington. Beijing also criticized Washington for its "overreaction" to the presence of an alleged Chinese spy balloon in American airspace, and vowed to take "countermeasures" against US entities in return. The US has claimed that the balloon was part of a Chinese spy program targeting over 40 nations.
