The youth division of the AfD is deemed "extremist" by German intelligence

April 28, 2023

(RT) ⸻

The BfV has declared Junge Alternative (JA) an extremist organization, making it more difficult for them to be employed by the government or obtain weapons licenses. The JA's hostility to migrants was central to the decision, as it supports a nation of Germans holding other ethnicities and migrants to be second-class citizens. The JA is reviewing its legal options due to the extremist designation and intelligence services' drive to suppress dissent. The AfD holds seats in 15 of 16 state parliaments and has the support of 15-17% of the electorate, but has been shut out of public news channels and labeled a threat to democracy. If given the same designation, some fear it will be banned.
