US arms sales to most autocratic governments - The Intercept

May 12, 2023

(RT)

The administration of US President Joe Biden sold weapons to at least 48 countries classified as being under authoritarian rule in 2022, according to analysis published by The Intercept. US weapons exports are typically divided into two categories: foreign military sales (FMS) and direct commercial sales (DCS). In Biden's first year as president, US weapons sales to foreign countries amounted to $206 billion, surpassing a Trump-era record of $192 billion. Biden's stance of opposition to authoritarian governments stands in contrast to the findings of the analysis.
